Dr Tinashe Dune (MAPS) is a multi-award winning researcher and tertiary educator in the areas of sociology, psychology and public health. She is also a double PhD, a fully endorsed Clinical Psychologist, board approved clinical supervisor, a yoga teacher, a certified Mental Health First Aid instructor and a Justice of the Peace for NSW.
Dr Dune is an internationally renowned Associate Professor with over 150 scholarly publications including articles in prestigious scientific journals as well as textbooks and edited collections published by prestigious academic publishers. Her academic work is focused on the experiences of people with complex trauma, disability, sexual and reproductive health and sexuality concerns and the vast diversity of experiences of minority and people of colour.
Dr Dune’s practice in clinical psychology includes evidence-based therapy and assessment with children, adolescents, adults with a range of psychological concerns and diagnoses. Her passion is working in a holistic framework which takes into account the whole system around and within clients. She enjoys developing individualised assessment and interventions using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, Schema Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and eclectic therapeutic approaches.
Dr Dune is tri-lingual and speaks English, Shona and French.
