Jessica Fou
Jess is a general Registered Psychologist who enjoys connecting with individuals to help them understand and process life events that may be causing them significant stress. She believes that every individual is worthy of a safe and non-judgemental space, and adopts a warm approach to support her clients in their healing journey. She is particularly passionate about supporting her clients in overcoming early childhood trauma and/or trauma-related symptoms, in hopes that they can reach their desired level of wellbeing and personal growth.
Jess has worked extensively with people aged 12-25 years old in the public health sector, providing both short and long-term therapy. In particular, she has worked with those who have experienced, or are currently experiencing mental health conditions such as longstanding depression, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, unwanted substance use and interpersonal and/or family conflict.
Jess combines her studies and years of clinical experience to provide trauma-informed care, understanding that one single approach will not work for everyone. Therefore, she tailors her treatment to ensure a person-centered and collaborative approach, drawing on evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing.
