Benefits of Meditation

Meditation is a powerful way to retrain the mind and the brain to be more positive, productive and balanced. Many people think meditation is only about sitting still for long periods of time without moving and without any sensory input (fair enough, some meditation is like this). 

However, meditation can be done by anyone at any time and without any training. All it takes is a moment to remember that you are breathing. If you can even do that for 1 second you are meditating. Of course there are different intensities or depths to meditation and many different styles. But even taking a moment to be grateful for something good about yourself or about your life and focusing only on that, even for a few seconds is meditation.

Check out some of our Meditations, which are also available on Insight Timer and YouTube, for small moments of mental rest and balance. Listen while you are in transit, in bed or on the couch.
