You in Mind

Free Psychological Therapy 


You in Mind (YiM) offers free psychological therapies and non-clinical peer support for individuals who have, or are at risk of developing, a diagnosed mental illness and belong to an eligible population group in South Western Sydney.

Psychological therapies are provided by qualified mental health professionals and tailored to meet your specific mental health needs. 

The YiM program also includes the Clinical Suicide Prevention Service (CSPS), which provides an additional 10 sessions for eligible individuals. Read more about CSPS here.

 Combined, this collaboration offers up to 22 free sessions within a calendar year, maximising access to comprehensive mental health support.

How to access the scheme?


Who can access this service? 

This program is available at no cost (free) to individuals with a mental disorder of either mild to moderate severity who are are (but is not limited to):

Individuals aged 12 and above

• people living, working or studying in South Western Sydney

• people living in rural and remote communities of Wollondilly and Wingecarribee

• people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds

• women experiencing perinatal and perinatal depression

• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

• postcodes of Disadvantage including Claymore, Airds and 2168

• people experiencing financial disadvantage

• older persons 65+ in the community and in Residential Aged Care Facilities

• LGBTIQA+ community

• people living with a severe and persistent mental illness.

Note: Clients aged 12-15 wanting to access CSPS will require the consent of a guardian.

What services can be provided through this program? 

By participating in this program, you can access 12 free therapy sessions with one of our accredited clinicians listed below. Our clinicians will apply a variety of DHW's therapeutic techniques, along with their expertise, to guide and support you with your mental health concerns. 

What forms will I need to complete to get started?

To get started, you will only need to get the SWSPHN Mental Health General Practitioner Referral Form completed with the assistance of your General Practitioner!

ELIGIBLE CLINICIANS

Our collaboration with One door Mental Health allows the YiM program to cater to the needs of many. As such, DHW is able to support clients with the help of Provisional Psychologists, Mental Health Social workers and Cousellors. The exact list of YiM accredited clinicians are attached below
