See below for our fees and potential rebates.
Initial psychology / counselling consultation
An initial consultation is 80 minutes long. A longer session is required to do a comprehensive initial assessment and to determine the best course of therapy for your specific needs.

An initial appointment with a Mental Health Social Worker costs $226.85. Clients with a Mental Health Care Plan can receive a Medicare rebate of $81.90 leaving a gap payment of $144.95* to be paid by the client by debit or credit card.

Dietetics consultation
A 50 minute appointment with an Accredited Practicing Dietitian costs $182. Clients may be able to claim this fee back from a private health insurer or via a self or plan-managed NDIS plan. Clients with an eligible Medicare referral (e.g., Mental Health Care Plan, Eating Disorder Plan, Chronic Condition Plan, etc.) can receive a Medicare rebate of $58.00 leaving a gap payment of $124* to be paid by the client by debit or credit card.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy is not subsidised by Australia's Better Access Scheme and therefore does not attract a Medicare rebate. To support accessibility and affordability DHW charges each partner the standard 80 minute out-of-pocket fee for joint sessions. For instance, to see a Provisional Psychologist or Counsellor couples therapy would cost $135 x 2 = $270. For a Mental Health Social Worker the cost would be $144.95 x 2 = $289.90. For a registered Psychologist the cost would be $145.35 x 2 = $290.70. For a Clinical Psychologist the cost would be $158.35 x 2 = $316.70. Because we bill each individual it may be possible for clients to claim their portion of the couples therapy session (e.g., $135 / $144.95 / $145.35 / $158.35) with their private health insurer*.
Individual sessions that you may have with the psychologist as part of your overall wellbeing journey are eligible for Medicare rebates with Registered or Clinical psychologists. For individual sessions, our standard individual 50-minute session rates apply (see table above) (minus any Medicare rebates applied). *Please consult with your private health insurer to determine if you may be eligible for any rebates or coverage.
After hours and weekend appointments
When booking for an initial or subsequnt consultation after 5pm (Evening) or weekends (Saturday) an additional $20 Administration Fee is charged.

Our assessment process is comprehensive, rigorous and thorough. To do so our assessment process usually includes:

Interviews with relevant sources (e.g., teachers, employers, caregivers, case workers, etc.). Such interviews are usually 30 minutes each (but may sometimes be longer). For instance, two interviews with relevant sources can be conducted within an hour.
Comprehensive assessments (i.e., WAIS, WISC, WIAT, WMS etc.) usually require 2 to 3 hours of testing onsite.
Assessment interpretation can take up to 2 hours for each assessment.
Most reports produced by our team are 2 to 5 pages in length. We charge $50 per page for our reports.
Clients are invited to attend a feedback session of 50 minutes to review the findings of the report and discuss recommendations. This can be done over the phone/Zoom.
As an example**, testing using the WISC and WIAT for a child assessment could include:
An initial 80 minute consultation
Two 30 minute interviews with a teacher and another caregiver
2 hours of WISC testing and 2 hours of WIAT testing
4 hours of assessment interpretation
$50 per page of the report

Other assessments (e.g., university, vocational, immigration, court, NDIS reviews and other reports) are charged at our initial consultation rates for an 80-minute appointment or 50-minute apppointment. Reports for these assessments cost $50 per page. Contact us to inquire.
Fees for an initial assessment consultation must be paid in full at the time of booking.
