**The above offer is available to anyone living in Australia who books and attends their first session with a provisional psychologist by 30 June 2022. Appointments can be attended via phone, telehealth or face-to-face.
Psychology Consultation Fees*
The Australian Psychological Association (APA) recommended rate for Clinical Psychology in 2021 – 2022 is $377 for an 80-minute initial session and $267 for a 50-minute psychology session. To support accessibility to mental health services, Dune Health and Wellbeing charges less than the recommended APA rates.
An initial consultation is 80-minutes long. A longer session is required to do a comprehensive initial assessment and to determine the best course of therapy for your specific needs.
An initial appointment with a Clinical Psychologist costs $261.30. Clients with a Mental Health Care Plan can receive a Medicare rebate of $129.55 leaving a gap payment of $131.75 to be paid by the client by debit or credit card.
An initial appointment with a Provisional Psychologist costs $108.25 and can be paid by the client by debit or credit card. There is no additional gap fee or Medicare rebate for services provided by our interns.
A subsequent consultation is a 50-minute therapy appointment. During these appointments you will be guided and engaged through evidence-based therapeutic approaches designed to help you achieve your mental health and life goals.
A subsequent appointment with a Clinical Psychologist costs $231.30 Clients with a Mental Health Care Plan can receive a Medicare rebate of $129.55 leaving a gap payment of $101.75 to be paid by the client by debit or credit card.
A subsequent appointment with a Provisional Psychologist costs $88.25 and can be paid by the client by debit or credit card. There is no additional gap fee or Medicare rebate for services provided by our interns.
After hours and weekend appointments
When booking for an initial or subsequnt consultation after 5pm (Evening) or weekends (Saturday) an additional $20 Administration Fee is charged. Evening and weekend appointments must be paid in full (minus any relevant rebates) at the time of appointment booking. This can all be done online by clicking here.
A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking an initial or subsequent appointment. Appointments and deposits can be made online by clicking here. The balance of your fee (minus any relevant rebates) is to be paid after your appointment. This can also be done online as well as with our Practice Manager during typical office hours.
Under the Medicare ‘Better Access to Mental Health’ scheme, clients with a diagnosable mental health condition can obtain a rebate of $129.55 for each session. This rebate is for up to 10 therapy sessions in each calendar year*. To be eligible to receive the rebate you must visit your GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician and obtain a referral for psychological services under a Mental Health Care Plan as part of your overall treatment plan.
*In response to COVID-19, Medicare rebates are available for up to 10 additional individual mental health sessions (20 Medicare subsidised sessions in total). This quota may be claimed in each calendar year from 9 October 2020 to 30 June 2022, with a maximum of 20 individual Better Access sessions available each year.
Private Health Funds
You may also choose to attend privately without a referral or Mental Health Plan. In this case, most private health funds provide rebates for psychological services depending upon your level of cover. Please check with your Health Fund about cover for psychology prior to your appointment. Private Health Fund rebates can be processed with our Practice Manager during typical office hours and HICAPS Go for online processing. You will need to download the HICAPS Go app for online claiming.

Psychological Assessment and Reporting
An initial consultation of 80 minutes at a cost of $261.30 is required to assess the concerns to be assessed and the psychometric tests needed for reporting.
Interviews with relevant sources (e.g., teachers, employers, caregivers). Such interviews are usually 30 minutes each (but may sometimes be longer). Our subsequent consultation fee of $190 applies on an hourly basis (i.e., two interviews with relevant sources can be conducted within an hour).
Comprehensive assessments (i.e., WAIS, WISC, WIAT, WMS etc.) usually require 2 to 3 hours of testing onsite. A fee of $150 is charged per hour.
Assessment interpretation can take up to 2 hours for each assessment. A flat fee of $150 is charged per hour of assessment.
Most reports produced by our team are 1-2 pages in length and no additional fee is charged for this length of report. If a longer report is required a $50 fee applies for each additional page.
Clients are invited to attend a feedback session of 30 minutes to review the findings of the report and discuss recommendations. This can be done over the phone/Zoom. No additional fee is charged for this final session.
As an example**, testing using the WISC and WIAT for a child assessment could cost:
$261.30 for initial 80 minute consultation
$231.30 for two 30 minute interviews with a teacher and another caregiver
$300 for 2 hours of WISC testing and $300 for 2 hours of WIAT testing
$300 for assessment interpretation
No cost for a 1-2 page report writing
No cost for 30 minute review appointment
Other assessments (e.g., university, vocational, immigration, court, NDIS reviews and other reports) are charged at our initial consultation rate of $261.30 for an 80-minute appointment and $231.30 for subsequent consultations. Reports for these assessments cost $50 per page. Contact us to inquire or to book.
Fees for an initial assessment consultation ($261.30) and a 2-hour testing session ($300) must be paid in full at the time of booking.
GST is included in all assessment fees.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The NDIS provides support to eligible people with intellectual, physical, sensory, cognitive and psychosocial disability. Early intervention supports can also be provided for eligible people with disability or children with developmental delay.
To access NDIS services and become a participant you must:
Be an Australian citizen, or hold a permanent visa or a Protected Special Category visa,
Reside in Australia
Be aged less than 65 years old when initially entering NDIS
Have a permanent disability that significantly impacts your ability to participate in everyday activities

Last minute cancellations of less than 24 hours’ notice attract a full fee. If there are exceptional circumstances that lead to an unexpected cancellation, please contact the practice.
24 hours – 48 hours’ notice 50% of the full fee is charged. If there are exceptional circumstances that lead to an unexpected cancellation, please contact the practice.
A cancellation fee will not be charged if you provide more than 48 hours’ notice when cancelling or changing an appointment.
