Alkaid Song
Alkaid is a Provisional Psychologist at Dune Health and Wellbeing. She integrates her personal attributes into practice by taking a compassionate and empathetic approach with acceptance, supporting a genuine connection with those she assists. Fluent in both English and Mandarin, her bilingual proficiency broadens her communication capabilities and assists her in reaching a diverse range of people. She has a particular interest in working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma and relationship-related issues, as well as the LGBTQ communities.
Alkaid has had the opportunity to work with older adults, children, and participants supported by the NDIS scheme. These experiences greatly assisted her in developing her clinical expertise for identifying clients' needs, engaging in a non-judgmental and collaborative approach, and creating a person-centred treatment plan.
In her role, Alkaid desires to understand and support others by creating an empathetic and non-judgmental space that encourages free expression and therapeutic connections. In her practice, she emphasises a collaborative process with her clients while being genuinely curious about their unique experiences, aiming to foster a personalised therapeutic journey. She is also committed to delivering evidence-based strategies and interventions tailored to her clients' needs and priorities. Alkaid hopes to make a meaningful and positive impact in the lives of those she assists
