Mavis is a Registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She also has experience working with individuals as a Psychologist, Mental Health Nurse and Midwife as well as in the Drug and Alcohol space. She delivers empathetic, evidence-based care tailored to the individual needs and circumstances of her clients. She is passionate about listening to people and adapting her therapy skills to best suit and support their needs.
The core elements of her work are informed by compassion, respect and advocacy. She supports the recovery, wellbeing and healing processes of individuals. Mavis takes a varied therapy approach, applying strategies from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), Motivational interviewing and cognitive and behavioural therapy (CBT). Each treatment plan is always designed accordingly to the unique needs of the client, their personal goals and situation.
Mavis is bilingual and speaks English and Ndebele.
